Best beach clubs in Phuket – Pools, sunset & parties
Beach clubs in Phuket may look similar at first, but they can lead to very different days. Some are designed around a relaxed day by the pool with lunch and a view of the beach, while others become noticeably livelier once the DJs take over in the afternoon. There are also clubs where sunset and dinner are the main event, as well as venues that only reach their peak later in the evening.
Access and reservations vary just as much. Some beach clubs can be visited for a meal or a drink without paying an entrance fee, while pool beds, loungers and cabanas come with a minimum spend. Others use fixed day passes or tickets. Age restrictions sometimes apply only to certain areas or events, but they can make a significant difference when visiting with children.
Our selection is therefore not a ranking. Catch, RAVA and XANA are all on Bangtao Beach, yet they suit very different kinds of visits. The same applies to clubs in Kamala, Karon and Patong. What matters is whether you want a pool and a lounger, dinner around sunset or a day built more around music and parties. This guide explains which beach club suits which kind of visit and what to check before making a reservation.
Which beach club is right for your day?
For a full day with a pool, lounger, lunch and music, Catch and RAVA are the most obvious options. Catch is usually the livelier choice, while RAVA is much larger within Laguna Phuket and offers several pools and seating areas. Families may find XANA easier, as the club is geared more toward spending a resort-style day together.
If sunset, dinner and a few hours by the beach matter more, Carpe Diem, Tann and FUGA are better suited to that kind of visit. Carpe Diem puts more emphasis on Mediterranean food and a more grown-up atmosphere. Tann combines sunset at Karon Beach with music, while FUGA remains comparatively relaxed despite its regular DJs.
For international DJs and larger events, Café del Mar is the clearest choice. Barra Cuda is more suited to visitors who want music and a lively pool scene from the afternoon onward. YONA is different from every other club in this selection because it sits on a floating platform. Mornings are calmer and open to families, while the Afternoon Package is aimed at adults, DJs and the transition into the evening.
Catch Beach Club – The established classic on Bangtao Beach
Catch is one of the best-known beach clubs in Phuket and sits directly on Bangtao Beach. The club has a pool, different loungers and daybeds, cabanas and several areas for lunch, dinner and drinks. It is easy to extend a visit from late morning into the evening without having to move somewhere else in between.
The mood changes as the day progresses. Mornings and lunchtime are generally calmer, while music and activity around the pool become more prominent later on. A BBQ is held regularly on Fridays and Sunday brunch is part of the weekly program. Guest DJs and special events can change the character of the day further.

Catch suits visitors looking for the classic beach club combination of pool, food, music and a lively atmosphere. There are better options for a quiet beach day. Anyone who simply wants to swim or walk along Bangtao Beach does not need the club either, as the beach itself is public.

Different minimum spends apply to loungers, daybeds and cabanas depending on the area, with the amount used as credit toward food and drinks. Reservations are advisable during high season, on weekends and for special events. Catch is open daily from 07:30 am to midnight. Breakfast is served until 10:30 am. Current conditions and available seating are shown during the reservation process.

RAVA Beach Club – Large pool areas within Laguna Phuket

RAVA is one of the newer beach clubs in Phuket and sits on Bangtao Beach within Laguna Phuket. Operated by Banyan Tree Phuket, the club stretches for around 150 meters along the beachfront and includes three infinity pools, different daybeds and cabanas and several areas for dining, music and events.
The Young & Fun area centers on the pools, DJ and open seating. It has a lively daytime atmosphere without being focused entirely on parties. Music and events become more important later in the day. Master Grill, meanwhile, specializes in meat, fish and seafood cooked over an open fire. The Prestige area has its own pool and private spaces and is reserved for Laguna Residence Owners and Sanctuary Club members.

RAVA suits couples, groups and families who want to spend a longer day with pools, food and music in one place. Children's activities and water sports are also part of the concept. Anyone looking for a small, understated beach club may simply find RAVA too large. Its main advantage is the range of different areas and the flexibility to shape the day in several ways.
Different day passes are available for daybeds, cabanas, and VIP rooms. The full amount is credited toward food and drinks. Day passes currently run from 10:00 am to 06:00 pm, while lunch and dinner can be reserved separately. RAVA is open daily from 10:00 am to midnight. Booking ahead is advisable for weekends, Sunday brunch, and larger groups.
XANA Beach Club – Pool and beach for families

XANA sits directly on Bangtao Beach at Angsana Laguna Phuket. The club combines the beach with the resort's large pool area, making it one of the easier options for families who want a day by the sea with a reserved place, pool access and the facilities of a resort.
Loungers and cabanas can also be booked by non-resort guests. Depending on the category, the day pass includes access to the XANA pool, towels, showers and food and beverage credit. The menu includes wood-fired pizza, lighter dishes, snacks and cocktails. During the day, the emphasis stays more on the pool, beach and eating together than on music and parties.

That sets XANA apart from Catch and RAVA. The club is less focused on larger DJ events and is easier to visit with children. Happy hour and live entertainment come in later in the day without necessarily turning the visit into a long party night.
Day use of loungers and cabanas is available from 10:00 am to 06:00 pm. Beach loungers, sofas, double loungers, and cabanas have different package prices, with food and beverage credit included depending on the category. XANA is currently open daily from 10:00 am to 09:00 pm. Food can be ordered until 07:00 pm and drinks until 08:30 pm. As packages and prices can change seasonally, the current conditions should be checked when booking.
Carpe Diem – Sunset and dinner on Bangtao Beach
Carpe Diem sits on the southern section of Bangtao Beach and combines a pool and beach area with a restaurant serving Mediterranean-influenced dishes, fish, seafood and cocktails. It is smaller than RAVA and puts more emphasis on dining and the transition from afternoon into evening.

There are several ways to visit. Pool beds, cabanas, beach loungers and sofas can be reserved through the beach club, while separate restaurant tables are available for lunch or dinner. If your main reason for coming is a meal and sunset, there is no need to book a lounger or cabana as well.
Music becomes more noticeable during the afternoon, although lunch, sunset and dinner remain the main focus. Regular events such as Sunday brunch and special dinner events can change the pace and mood. It is therefore worth checking the current event program as well as the available seating.
The beach club area currently has a minimum age of 15, while the restaurant is open to guests aged 12 and above. For reserved loungers and cabanas, part of the price is credited toward food and drinks. Conditions vary by season and category, as can payment and cancellation rules. Carpe Diem is open daily from 11:00 am to midnight.

Café del Mar – DJs and events on Kamala Beach
Café del Mar sits directly on Kamala Beach and is one of Phuket's best-known beach clubs for electronic music and international DJs. Loungers, daybeds and lounge areas surround the pool, alongside a restaurant, bar and separate Club Room for later in the evening.

Early in the afternoon, Café del Mar can still feel like a classic pool day. As the hours pass, music and events play a larger role. This is especially true on weekends and when guest DJs are scheduled. Anyone mainly looking for a quiet afternoon by the pool or dinner around sunset should therefore check the program for the specific date. A major headliner can noticeably change the atmosphere, volume and booking conditions.
On many regular days, reserving the preferred seating area is enough. Special events can require additional tickets or separate VIP bookings. An event ticket does not automatically include a particular daybed or lounger.

Café del Mar is only partly suitable for families. Guests under 18 are currently not permitted to use the pool area or lounge and cannot access the dance floor after 09:00 pm. Separate rules apply to the Club Room, where entry is limited to guests aged 21 and above.
The beach club opens daily at 11:00 am. Regular daytime use of the pool and loungers runs until 07:00 pm. The last food orders are taken at 10:30 pm and drinks are served until 11:30 pm. The Club Room is currently open Wednesday to Saturday from 10:00 pm. Club Room hours can vary depending on the night and event program.

Tann Beach Club – Sunset and music on Karon Beach
Tann sits directly on Karon Beach and is one of the few larger beach club options on the southern part of Phuket's west coast. The club has a pool, beachfront seating, beanbags, sofas, daybeds and separate areas for families and visitors who prefer to sit closer to the music and events.
During the day, Tann can be used for lunch, the pool and a few hours by the beach. Around sunset, DJs and music become a larger part of the experience. Fire shows and special events are also part of the program on selected evenings. This makes Tann suitable both for a longer afternoon and for a visit that begins around sunset with dinner.
Tann is more family-friendly than Café del Mar or Carpe Diem. When reserving, guests can choose specifically between the Family Area and Party Area. That does not mean the music stays quiet later in the evening. With younger children, we would favor the daytime operation or an earlier sunset visit.
The seating areas are designed for different group sizes. Some beach beds and sofas can only be booked for four to eight people and may therefore make little sense for a couple. Smaller tables and beanbags are available as alternatives. Depending on the category, the booking value for reserved seating is credited toward food and drinks. Minimum spends and any event-specific conditions are shown during the reservation process. Tann is currently open daily from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm.

YONA Beach Club – The floating club off Phuket

YONA stands apart from every other beach club in this selection because of its location. The club sits on a floating platform and is reached by shuttle boat. Across several levels are a 22-meter pool, restaurant, several bars, pool beds, sofas and private cabanas. There is no direct access to the sea.
The Morning Package is designed for a calmer visit. It runs 09:30 am – 02:00 pm and is open to guests aged four and above. The Afternoon Package runs 02:00 pm – 09:30 pm. During this session, DJs, music and activity around the pool become much more central. The party session has a minimum age of 20.
Unlike many land-based clubs, YONA requires a fixed ticket. The amount of food and beverage credit varies by pass. The ticket does not automatically reserve a specific pool bed, sofa or cabana. Seating, group areas and private cabanas have their own booking conditions.

The check-in location also changes seasonally. During high season, YONA operates off Patong and is reached through Patong Boat Pier. During low season, the club moves to Phuket's east coast with check-in at Royal Phuket Marina. The Morning Package is currently offered there only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. We explain tickets, exact times, seating and the full process in more detail in our guide to YONA Beach Club.

Beach clubs in Patong – FUGA and Barra Cuda
Patong now has several beach clubs that can easily be combined with restaurants, bars and nightlife around Bangla Road later in the evening. For this selection, we focus on FUGA and Barra Cuda because they represent two distinctly different kinds of beach club visit. We cover more bars and clubs nearby in our guide to nightlife in Patong.
FUGA Beach Club – Sunset and dinner at the northern end of Patong Beach
FUGA sits at the northern end of Patong Beach, slightly removed from the busiest area around Bangla Road. The club has a pool, restaurant and beachfront bar. Music becomes more noticeable toward the evening and DJs play regularly, although FUGA does not turn into a dedicated party venue.
The club is particularly well suited to a visit around sunset. An afternoon at the beach can continue into dinner and drinks without needing another stop afterward. Visitors looking for louder music and more activity around the pool from the afternoon onward will find more of that at Barra Cuda.
FUGA is currently open daily from 08:00 am to midnight. A minimum spend may apply to certain loungers and seating areas. As the club is a little farther from Bangla Road, a taxi or Tuk Tuk is convenient if you plan to continue there later in the evening.

Barra Cuda – Pool and DJs near Bangla Road
Barra Cuda sits centrally on Patong Beach, only a few minutes on foot from Bangla Road. The club has two pools, several seating areas and a shallow pool directly beside the DJ area that functions as a pool dance floor.
The atmosphere is livelier from the afternoon than at FUGA. Music, DJs and the activity around the pool are more central to the experience. On event days, the area can develop into a full pool party relatively early. Barra Cuda therefore makes most sense for groups or visitors who want to use the beach club as the start of a longer night in Patong.
Barra Cuda currently opens daily at 12:00 pm. The pool closes at 08:00 pm, while the closing time for the club itself can vary by season, day of the week and event. Minimum spends apply to certain areas and are shown when booking. Entry is limited to guests aged 20 and above. Booking ahead is advisable on weekends and for larger DJ events.

Minimum spend, reservations and age restrictions
Beach clubs in Phuket use several different booking models. There is often no entrance fee for a restaurant table or a drink at the bar. Loungers, daybeds, sofas and cabanas, on the other hand, usually come with either a day pass or a minimum spend. Depending on the club, that amount may be fully or only partly credited toward food and drinks. Before booking, check how much of the payment can actually be used as food and beverage credit.
Pool access, towels and showers are not automatically included with every reservation either. A restaurant table may give you access to the club but does not necessarily include use of the pool or a lounger. In the same way, an event ticket does not automatically guarantee a fixed seat or daybed.
When looking at prices, pay attention to terms such as “net" and “++". “Net" generally indicates the final price. With “++", a 10 percent service charge and 7 percent VAT are usually added. The amount ultimately charged will therefore be higher than the price initially shown.
Many reservations need to be confirmed with a credit card, deposit or full prepayment. Cabanas and larger daybeds in particular may be non-refundable. It is also worth checking the intended number of guests before booking. Large sofas, beach beds or cabanas can make considerably less sense for a couple than smaller seating options.
Families should check the age rules for the specific area they plan to book. A family-friendly beach club may still restrict certain sections or evening events to adults. At other clubs, the minimum age changes during the day. The relevant rules are therefore those for the booked area and the time of your visit.
The event program can affect both the atmosphere and the price. A regular afternoon with a resident DJ may be much calmer and less expensive than a day with an international headliner. Larger events sometimes require an additional ticket and an existing reservation does not always include admission.
Dress codes can also vary by area and time of day. Normal beachwear is common at most clubs during the daytime. Restaurants in the evening, Club Rooms and special events often expect a more polished look. Check the specific requirements together with the booking conditions.
Opening hours, minimum spends and event programs change seasonally. During the rainy season, outdoor areas, boat transfers and events can also depend on the weather. It is therefore worth checking the conditions for your exact date directly with the club even when a venue is normally open every day.
Planning your beach club visit in Phuket

Start with the kind of visit you want rather than the best-known name. A day pass with a pool bed can take up a large part of the day, while a restaurant booking or sunset reservation is much easier to fit around other plans. If you mainly want to eat and have a few drinks, you do not automatically need a cabana or full day pass.
Location matters just as much. Catch, RAVA, XANA and Carpe Diem are all on Bangtao Beach and are particularly convenient if you are staying in northern Phuket or around Laguna Phuket. From Kata, Karon or Patong, the drive can be considerably longer depending on traffic. Tann is better positioned for the south, Café del Mar for Kamala and FUGA or Barra Cuda for a stay in Patong.
Before booking, take one last look at the seating category, included credit and event program. The right beach club is the one whose location, atmosphere and pace fit your stay.
