The Mooring Resort

The Mooring Resort is nestled at the eastern end of Ao Yon beach, right next to The Cove Phuket beach club and restaurant. Ao Yon, located on the Cape Panwa peninsula, is one of Phuket Island’s last quiet yet stunning bays. It features two white sandy beaches separated by a rocky headland that is easy to walk across. Sheltered by Cape Panwa to the east and Chalong Bay to the west, the area enjoys calm waters with almost no waves all year round. This hidden gem, unknown to most tourists, is mainly frequented by local fishermen and families on weekends. On other days, you can have the beach all to yourself!

The beach provides a breathtaking view of surrounding islands such as Koh Lon and Koh Hi (Coral Island), which are easily accessible by traditional longtail boats. Cape Panwa delivers a range of unique and authentic local experiences in a typical Thai atmosphere, just minutes from The Mooring. This part of Phuket has a distinct advantage over the west coast, offering easy access to a variety of islands. North of Cape Panwa is Phang Nga Bay, as well as Koh Yao Yai, Koh Yao Noi, and the famous James Bond Island.
